Things Cats Just Can’t Resist

April 1 2019

Kitties are great pets: they’re cute, clean, cuddly, and affectionate, not to mention highly entertaining and full of adorable quirks. While some of Fluffy’s tastes and opinions make sense, others sometimes leave us scratching our heads. Read on as a Cherry Hill, NJ vet lists some things that, for some reason, cats just can’t refuse.

Sunbeams

Does your feline buddy spend a good chunk of her morning soaking up some sun? We suspect the answer to that question is yes. Your furball may even move around from spot to spot, so she can soak up as many rays as possible. Fluffy is definitely warm blooded, and she runs on cat food, not solar power. Regardless, she certainly does love sunbathing.

Pawing At Small Objects

Have you ever seen your feline friend smack small objects off coffee tables or desks? No one is entirely sure why cats do this, though there are quite a few possibilities. One option is that this is Fluffy’s way of demanding attention, or showing her displeasure. Then again, Fluffy may just have a short circuit in her wiring.

Boxes

Fluffy’s box obsession is quite adorable, if perhaps a bit confusing. We do know that cats feel safest in small spaces. This makes sense, as in the wild they often need to hide from predators. However, this does not really clarify why cats will stuff themselves into boxes that are several sizes too small for them. Our feline pals will even jump into ‘invisible’ boxes, which are nothing but tape outlines on a floor.

Small Spaces

Boxes aren’t the only small space Fluffy likes. If you open a cabinet or closet that’s usually closed, there’s a good chance that your pet will immediately hop inside it. Also, if you have to pack a suitcase, your furball may very well try to pack herself!

Sheet Changing

If you’ve ever tried to change your bedsheets with a cat around, you know that this is easier said than done. Your furry buddy may think she’s protecting you or lending you a helping paw, but, to be honest, she really isn’t very helpful. We aren’t entirely sure why Fluffy is so obsessed with battling the dreaded ‘sheet monster’, but that’s ok. Kitty antics are always cute to watch!
